GREN's
ceramic-matrix brake pads(December 11, 2001) |
At the 2001 Expert Appraisal Conference, GREN announced its successful development of a new product: ceramic-matrix brake pads. Thus far, the ceramic fiber compound is known as a high-tech application in the friction material manufacturing industry.
Integrated with the latest friction technology, GREN¡¯s new brake friction formulation fills the gap which has, until now, existed in the China¡¯s friction material. GREN ceramic friction material features an exceptional thermal resistance, which reaches up to 1300oF/700oC. This provides an added measure of safety for the driver. Note: the brake temperature at 1100oF/600oC may cause cracks in the ordinary brake pads that will result the thermal breakdown and the total brake failure.
