On December 11, 2001, GREN announced its successful development of new product of ceramic-matrix brake pads at the expert appraisal conference.
   The ceramic fiber compound, so far, is known as a high-tech application in friction material manufacturing industry.
    Integrated with the latest friction technology, the new brake friction formulation that GREN developed fills up a gap which has hitherto existed in the domestic friction material in China. GREN ceramic friction material features the exceptional thermal resistance high up to 1300oF/700oC, providing added measure of safety to the drivers. Note: the brake temperature at 1100oF/600oC may cause cracks in the ordinary brake pads and will result the thermal breakdown and the total brake failure.

   On May 13, 2001, GREN (AMERICAN) Automotive, Inc. was established and GREN Automotive Distribution Center started to operate. Mayor Du Shicheng of Qingdao attended the opening ceremony and unveiled the brand stone together with many other leaders of Qingdao and customer representatives.
